August 12, 2020: “THE BLESSING”

Have you ever heard God’s Whisper? Have you ever heard a tiny, soft voice in your head and a tug at your heart to do something? Maybe for you it could be indigestion or maybe your conscience… but when it happens to me…I know what it is. Better yet…I know Who it is. I’ve been able to hear it since I was a small child. It’s God’s WHISPER.

I had my blog all planned out.

Well, this week, I thought I knew exactly what I was going to write about but then I heard a familiar song on the Christian radio station. It was an amazing song that I had first heard in July around the time that my Sister had lost her husband. As the song began, I remembered how powerful the lyrics were and how they had given my sister comfort and strength after her loss.

There I was, driving my car down the highway, singing along with the song at the top of my lungs, when in the midst of the Amen chorus I heard God’s whisper.

“Share this”. He whispered. “There is someone that needs to hear this song through your blog. They need to be blessed as you have been. They need to be reminded that I am with them.”

So, here I am, doing as my Father has asked. (His ideas are always better than mine). This blog is for you – whoever and wherever you are.

God wants you to know that He loves you and that He is with you. He wants you to know that you are not alone and because He loves you so much, He has brought us ALL together…men, women and children from all over the world now, to pray for you and with you.

The song that God called me to share with you is called THE BLESSING.

If you do not know it, here is a portion of an article written by Megan Folwer regarding the song written and performed by Christian artists Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes.

The Blessing’ Sung Around the World: 100 Virtual Choirs Spread Worship Anthem

How a familiar Old Testament benediction became a viral hit during the pandemic.MEGAN FOWLER JULY 29, 2020 10:20 AM

Just a couple of weeks before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the US, Kari Jobe held a songwriting session with her husband, Cody Carnes, and Elevation Worship’s Steven Furtick and Chris Brown. Together, they set to music one of the Bible’s best-known benedictions, Numbers 6:24–26:

The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.

When they introduced “The Blessing” at an Elevation Church campus near Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 1, Jobe told worshipers that the lyrics represent “the heart of the Father over us as his kids” and invited them to receive the song as “a blessing over you and your family and your children.”

Over 100 virtual choirs (from all over the world) have since created versions of the song, declaring God’s blessings over cities, countries, and whole continents.

I am going to share one of those virtual recordings with you today.

I pray that this prayer and these lyrics, taken from God’s Word, will wash over you, comfort you, bring you courage, strength and peace.

This blog and this song is dedicated to YOU and to all those who are struggling.

It’s dedicated to those that are facing illness and are all alone…for those that have lost all hope…for the wounded and the poor… for the angry searching for answers and a way out (He is the Way).

It’s for those holding on by a thread or at the end of their rope…for the lonely and desperate… for parents that are frustrated and for children everywhere, that they may be blessed and kept safe…

It’s for the lost and for those who have lost loved one’s and for those searching for a light in the darkest night (He is with you).

May you each feel God’s arms wrap around you at this moment and may His Holy Spirit wash over you and bring you PEACE.

GOD IS WITH YOU…HE IS FOR YOU…and HE LOVES YOU.

PEACE.

From My Heart to Yours, VICTORIA
