Have you been practicing your eye smile? I’d like you to take a moment to think about it. If we are required to wear masks everywhere, how can people tell the expression on your face? Are you happy, mad, sad, confused, disappointed?

I have always said that if you give people nothing else, give them a SMILE. It may be the only thing they receive all day and it can make a big difference in their day. Seriously, didn’t this little girl’s smile make you grin. ABSOLUTELY!! It’s a gift.

God gave us each a smile to brighten the world. A simple smile can make us feel like everything is gonna be OK. It’s easy, it’s free and can make your day both giving and receiving one. SMILES ARE IMPORTANT!

Now, because of all the Covid 19 restrictions, you are required to wear a mask wherever you go, especially when you are in close contact with people (6 ft apart) in stores and restaurants.

First there was a shortage of toilet paper now there’s a world wide shortage of SMILES, even FAMOUS ONES! There are none to be given OR to receive! People can only see your eyes and eyebrows. So again, I’m asking if you have been practicing your eye smile? In fact, have you been practicing ALL of your eye expressions?

This is serious. It seems that this pandemic has taken so much away from us – jobs, sometimes basic supplies, some have lost their income and health insurance, we can’t visit family members (especially those in hospitals and nursing homes), we can’t visit our friends, go to church, travel, go shopping, hugs, kisses and now, we’ve even lost our ability to share our SMILES. Thus we need to fight back with our EYE SMILES.

People can only see from the bridge of your nose UP. Ladies, you can’t see lipstick, foundation, blush, etc. behind the mask. EYE and BROW MAKEUP is all people can see. Your EYES are truly the WINDOW TO YOUR SOUL and YOUR MOOD. So express yourself.

Men don’t wear eye makeup, or maybe some do, but the majority of men have it a bit harder. They can only work with naked eyes.

Either way, we all need to be practicing our eye expressions with and without a MASK. For fun, stand in front of the mirror and see what your eyes tell you.

Smile…Do your eyes squint or twinkle?

Do they explode like giant half dollars when you’re angry or do your eyebrows and forehead do all the talking.

Do they explode off your face when your surprised?

Forget about being sad and crying..It’s pretty obvious, plus your mask gets wet from snot and tears.

Did you know that Fashion now includes MASKS that can accentuate your smiling eyes? You can get them in a wide assortment of colors and patterns to go with your outfits. Personally my mask is black. I’m not into making much of a fashion statement. I’m more of a quick in and out of stores and not much worried about if my mask matches my outfit kinda person. I might need to rethink this though.

I wouldn’t throw away all your lipsticks and blushes quite yet, ladies. Store them for now. Things will get better. Faces and true Smiles will emerge from behind the masks…some day, hopefully, but for now…. it’s all about the EYES!

SO LET YOUR EYES SMILE WHEREVER YOU GO. Now, more than ever we all need the gift of SMILES. We can’t touch each other, hug or kiss each other and personally I’m getting tired of being elbowed, so we need to EYE SMILE EACH OTHER

and when your’e not wearing a mask, especially at home, give away as many smiles and hugs as you can. We all need one.
So Today:
I am thankful to God that I have eyes and a smile that I can give away. I’m grateful for eye makeup …as trivial as that seems and I’m grateful for all the SMILING EYES that I can see beyond the masks because they are the next best things to REAL ones.
It was kinda fun exploring SMILES today. SHARE ONE with a stranger. It might change their day.
What are you Thankful for?
I’m sure God would love to hear from you today and so would I.
Blessings, VICTORIA
