Today’s Thank You Note to God:

Have you ever been stuck in traffic or needed to sit at a Stop Sign for so long you could read a book?

Well, I was sitting at a stop sign in traffic yesterday and it took three EXTREMELY LONG lights to get through the intersection. I found myself getting so frustrated, that I began talking out loud in my car to all the “idiots” trying to change lanes in the middle of the mess – as if that was going to get them through the light any quicker. Uggg.

Then I realized two things. First, it would be a lot worse if there were NO STOP LIGHTS. There would be such a free for all with drivers doing whatever they wanted and THAT WOULD BE A DISASTER and Extremely DANGEROUS – not to mention how much ROAD RAGE there would be.

Secondly, I realized that GOD just might be trying to get my attention or at least He might be trying to slow me down for a reason by placing stop lights and traffic in my path. There might even be a lesson He wants me to learn in the middle of all this mess, so instead of fuming about all the delay, I decided to turn on the Christian Radio Station, JOY FM to help defuse the situation. Within seconds I was at peace and began singing with the songs. I began Praising God and singing at the top of my lungs instead of yelling at other motorists. It was so much better.

Sitting through the three stop lights and crawling through 20 minutes of my day at one intersection, actually helped me take time out of my day to worship the God who had given me the day to begin with. Instead of being frustrated and impatient, I took the time to thank Him for my car, gasoline, my ability to drive, my voice and my ability to sing..(well that’s debatable, but you get the idea). I thanked Him for my family and friends, my home and for the freedom to worship at church and in my car without fear of being arrested or killed for my faith. I sang as if no one was listening and spoke to God as if He was sitting right next to me.

Instead of an angry heart and spirit, I had a thankful heart. Hmmm. Something to think about. Maybe I should do more singing and be more grateful even when I’m not stuck in traffic.

The BIBLE says “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

So Today:

I am Thankful for Stop Signs that help keep order and slows me down, for the Christian Radio station, Joy FM, that led me to worship a God that deserves so much more than 20 minutes at an intersection, and for a God that even causes traffic jams to get my attention so I’ll spend some one on one time with Him. He loves me sooo much and He loves you too.

What has He done lately to get YOUR attention and what are you Thankful for today?

I’m sure God would love to hear from you and so would I.

Blessings, VICTORIA
